The new John Stripe Theatre is a demonstration of the opportunities
presented by even the most unpromising 1970’s campus architecture
through a radical transformation. Phase 1 sees the emphasis on the
auditorium itself moved from theatre to lecture hall, with a cost-effective
remodeling and refurbishment programme. Phase 2 is more involved,
with the addition of a new first floor for teaching space and seminar
