At the core of this project is the new cultural centre, including
a museum, library and gallery. On approach, a new square frames
the war memorial, and acts as a gateway to the site, and the large
overhanging roof provides a covered space for Remembrance Day commemorations.
The gateway provides secure but discreet access to the building
– and offers a route beneath the building to a courtyard at
the heart of the scheme.
