student services centre, teaching accommodation and commercial/retail space. As part of the new masterplan, and as a result of necessary demolition on the Headington Campus, Design Engine have designed a new 8,000sqm School for the Built Environment, to include the Departments of Architecture, Planning and Real Estate Management. The School is centred around the existing 1960’s Abercrombie building, and extends into a new central court with a six-storey atrium, which acts as an environmental moderator to teaching space and studios either side. Circulation bridges across the void hover above the ground floor gallery and café and double as break-out spaces. «BACK
